Something that pisses me off for years already
You know, I've been part of this community for four years already and even longer am I into Reader-Inserts, so I know what I'm talking about when I say this:
Dear (Fem!)Reader-Insert writers,
why the heck do the most of you assume that all readers are female?
When you name your fanfiction with the part "x Reader" then it means x - fucking - Reader! Not a female Reader, just a Reader.
It's a gender neutral term which means everyone no matter what gender identity they have can read this shit.
But still, out of 95% of the Reader-Inserts that I have read or clicked on to check it out, it was dedicated to females with small hints like the pronouns in a dialogue or even written in third person like: "She walked down the hallway." "The girl." "The female." "Girlfriend."
Is it really that hard to write a Fem! in front of the Reader? Or even just a F! ? So you can at least inform us? And it's not even that much effort, really.
